Almost 50 years ago, Irwin Homes began as Irwin Construction, founded by Irwin Koop. Irv started as a framer, then led his own framing crew and eventually, decided to strike out on his own as a custom builder.
Irv was supported by his wife Lil, and was eventually joined by his son Andrew. Over time the business grew, Irv and Lil retired, Andrew was joined by his wife Krista, and now they manage Irwin Homes.
Now in our 3rd generation, with a dozen employees, we still consider ourselves a “family” business.
We provide everything from drafting services to in house interior design and full-time site supervisors. For our single-family homes, we provide a truly custom experience by listening to our customers' wants and needs and walking through the entire process with them.
Irwin Homes also prides itself on creating high-quality multi-family projects as well as entire communities. In all aspects of our business, we strive to live up to our slogan...

JOEL NEUFELD
GENERAL MANAGER
A few years before Irwin Homes had an office building with a team, Joel joined Andrew Koop as he ran the company out of the Koop family’s garage. Since then, he has been established as general manager overseeing day to day operations of the business. Joel’s passion is developing how Irwin Homes is viewed to our clients and within the industry. Our lasting relationships are strengthened by Joel’s dedication to the business and talent in working with people. He is known to the team for aspirational conversations at our weekly production meetings. At home, Joel is met with the task of running a household of three young children alongside his wife, Tania.

JAMES ARKLE
CONTROLLER
Originally from London, Ontario, James joined Irwin Homes after completing his Bachelor Arts Economics and Bachelors in Commerce Accounting. In his ten years with Irwin, he has seen his role grow and now oversees all accounting & billing. To us, he is our honest and caring coworker, whose office is decorated in Star Wars memorabilia, but to others he is Major in the army reserves.
WILLIAM KOOP
ESTIMATING
Will joined Irwin Homes officially in 2021 after graduating from Asper School of business, although he spent many years as part-time job site clean up crew. His current role puts him in constant communication with designers, suppliers, and trades as he ensures accuracy in budget & details of each build. Outside of the office he leads an active life running marathons & training with his wife, Sarah.
LISA KLASSEN
ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISSTANT
& MARKETING COORDINATOR
Lisa joined the Irwin Team in 2022 and has seen her role evolve since then. She plays a vital part in supporting our custom homes, condo builds, & development projects. If you've built or bought a home with us in the last few years, Lisa has been a part of the process. Lisa loves to unwind at her cabin & explore her creative side through painting!
TRISH CUMMINGS
ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISSTANT
Trish sits at our front desk & is the first smiling face you see when you walk into the office. With an eye for detail & exceptional organizational skills, Trish assists in invoice processing, coordinates service calls, and general office administration. Whether you’re a client or colleague, Trish is always ready to help in whatever way she can! Outside of the office she loves to spend time with her husband & 2 young boys.

DESIGN COORDINATOR
As interior designer, Taylor is responsible for plan design, selections and finished product. She is dedicated to her clients from the moment they walk through our doors to the day they take possession. No two jobs or clients are alike, which makes her role exciting and challenging. Outside the office, Taylor enjoys reading fantasy novels & her dream space to design would be an eclectic home library.
BARRETT RUNKE
DESIGN COORDINATOR
After graduating from Red River in 2022, Barrett immersed herself into the professional world of interior design as part of the Irwin Homes Design Team. She enjoys building relationships with our clients & their families as she walks them through a new home build or renovation project. Barret’s admirable social skills shine in and outside the office where she is a team player in softball, volleyball and billiards leagues.

GRANT CHURCHILL
SITE SUPERVISOR & SAFETY ADVISOR
The care and safety of our staff and homeowners would not be what is without Grant’s dedication over the last twenty-six years with Irwin Homes. Grant would describe his role to include anything from sweeping floors to babysitting to building decks and service calls. Nobody has as entertaining stories from personal experiences on and off the job site and shares them with such an authentic demeanor as Grant does.
JOSIAH CHURCHILL
SITE SUPERVISOR
Josiah runs jobsites and provides daily insight to our designers and trades. He is known for his calm and easygoing personality and expert organization skills, which makes him run his jobs effectively and on schedule. He also provides our clients with the highest level of customer service & makes homeowners feel valued. When the steel-toes are off, he is kept on his toes by chasing his toddler around the backyard.

SITE SUPERVISOR
Dan joined Irwin Homes in 2021, and has played a big part in running jobsites in our new development as well as many multi-family projects. Working with Dan is fun, whether it is in safety meetings, walk-throughs, or plan reviews, he always brings a positive attitude to our team and homeowners. Outside of the office he keeps busy spending time with his wife & 3 kids.
CALVIN FRIESEN
SITE SUPERVISOR
Calvin has a long history with Irwin Homes and the construction industry as a whole. He has run many of our condo projects across the city and suburbs. He confidently manages his jobsites with a fun attitude and always has great rapport with trades, staff, and homeowners. When he is not on the jobsite, he enjoys spending time around a hockey rink and spending time with his family.
